An Indiana nurse pleaded guilty to a felony charge after being charged with removing a COVID-19 patient’s oxygen at a nursing home, the Indianapolis Star reported April 17.
Connie Sneed, 54, was a licensed practical nurse at Clarksville, Ind.-based Wedgewood Healthcare Center when she made a Facebook post detailing how she allegedly removed a patient’s oxygen to let him “fly with the angels.” The patient, a 72-year-old man, died April 30, 2020, after being in the nursing home for a month. A co-worker saw the post and reported it to their supervisor, which led to an investigation and Ms. Sneed’s termination.
Ms. Sneed pleaded guilty to knowingly or intentionally acting as a physician’s assistant without a license, a Level 6 felony. However, under the plea deal, she will receive no jail time.
